With the first full day of fall upon us, Jedd Gyorko has seen his numbers do the opposite. Rise. His average has gone up .05 points over the past week after posting hits in each game but one. Coincidentally, the Padres went 4-3 for the week. Let’s see how he did.

9/20: 1-3, 1 HR, 2 RBI (This was Gyorko’s 20th HR of the season, a new Padres’ record for 2B)
For the week, Gyorko hit .333, notching eight hits in 24 at-bats. Two of those hits were home runs He drove in six runs and crossed the plate four times himself. The Padres still have seven games left before Gyorko checks off “1st complete major league season” from his checklist. The next thing he could be marking off is Rookie of the Year.
