As the final roster cuts are coming in, the word out of Pittsburgh is that two more Mountaineers have been cut. Following the NFL Draft, the Steelers signed Terence Garvin, Joe Madsen and J.D. Woods from WVU. The team found success before in signing undrafted free-agents from West Virginia (see: Will Johnson), but none from this current crop made the cut.
The team cut J.D. Woods before the first round of cuts last week. On Saturday, the team announced they had released Garvin and Madsen.
At linebacker, Garvin recorded 11 tackles during the preseason. Madsen was used sparingly at center.
Both are eligible for the practice squad should they clear waivers.
