Professional basketball is about to get in full swing across the world as Devin Ebanks made his first preseason appearance with the Dallas Mavericks, making it count. He wasn't the only WVUPro to hit the courts recently. Here's the rundown.
Ebanks did not get into the Mavs preseason opener on Monday night against the New Orleans Pelicans, but was in the game late on Wednesday night against Memphis. The Mavs let a 79-64 fourth quarter lead slip away, but a basket by Ebanks with 44.2 seconds left sealed a 95-90 win for Dallas.
Ebanks finished with 6 points, 2 rebounds (both offensive) and blocked a shot in 8 minutes of play. The Mavs next preseason game isn't until next Monday when they play Orlando.
After sitting out of basketball for a season while he recovers from a stress-fracture in his left leg. He has sat out all of the Warriors preseason games thus far and is expected to miss the next two.
His pro career has taken him from the NBA to Russia, but he says he has learned from his journey.
"Ive grown, just like anyone does in their 20s, but especially with the basketball, Alexander said. Ive been exposed to European ball and different teams, coaches, situations. Ive really learned the game, whereas out of college, I had no idea what I was doing.
"I feel like things are different this time around. Theres not the hype surrounding my college performances. Its just totally different. You can come in with a more-developed game and people can still be less excited about you. Its an interesting situation."

Likewise with Alexander, Da'Sean Butler has seen his pro career hampered by the knee injury he suffered in the 2010 NCAA Tournament. Now Butler has returned to the court with Okapi Aalstar in Belgium. The team opened up their season this past weekend, with Butler penciled in as a starter.
Through two games, both wins, Butler is averaging 13 points and 6 rebounds.
Ruoff is in his first season with BG Goettingen in Germany. Through two games, Ruoff leads his team at 19.7 points to go along with 6 rebounds and 2 steals per game. For more on Ruoff's quest to win a championship, click here.
